An Inspiration for a Barn

The love for old farm outbuildings is nearly an obsession and we're always admiring those seen while driving around. 

This barn project is meant to imitate some of the old styling including a simple plan with outside stalls, old wood lap siding, a hay loft, and old wood floors. 

It's been an intentional challenge to build it myself to see if I can do it. 

Many times I've thought of older farmers who built their own buildings on a budget and with little construction knowledge!! Whew!

Because it's a solo build and on a budget it's been a slow process but it's getting there!

The siding will likely have to be finished next year. 

After that wood floors will be installed and stall doors be added to have access to the stalls from inside.
